, Life, Uninterrupted – Solar Installation is Not a Home Invasion

Homeowners often ask two questions when they’re considering a home improvement project: ‘How much does it cost?’, and ‘How long will it take?’ These are important questions to answer from the start. After all, the payoff should be worth the inconvenience. For example, we justify the hassle and expense of a kitchen remodel by remembering that, at the end of the project, our home is more fashionable, functional, and valuable.

A solar installation project is the same … yet different. We don’t call solar fashionable or trendy, (although you can dress and decorate more stylishly with the extra cash solar affords you!) As to function though, solar is very similar to a new kitchen or bath. Life is just better with solar power.

But when it comes to inconvenience, there is NO comparison between a kitchen remodel and solar installation.

Solar Install: How Long Will it Take?

For residential jobs, Synergy Power averages two days per installation. Even better, your home has electricity while we work. Many of our customers are astonished: we get started, get finished, and get out of your hair. The most annoying feature (for you and for us) is waiting for the utility to come to grips with you leaving them. (They’re so clingy.) Most systems can be turned on remotely within hours of this ‘permission-to-operate’ (PTO) approval. A cool and free app will monitor system performance conveniently from your mobile device. We’ll even show you how to use it.

The Planning Process of Solar Installation

After getting information from you, including your current electric usage, we can calculate your current and future energy ‘appetite’. Then we draw an array based on the location, angle, and condition of your roof. We assess the electrical panel in your home and consider factors such as shade and climate. Once you make the decision to go solar and approve the plan, we apply for the appropriate permits. There is a law in California requiring the majority of roof-mounted solar to be permitted in a timely fashion, but various municipalities define ‘timely’ in various ways. Things are getting better. Meanwhile, we keep track of progress on your behalf and stay in touch with you. At this point, the majority of our customers have only invested a couple of hours in the project, aside from whatever individual research they feel like doing.

Switching to Solar: No Hassle

Once the permits are approved, we order, deliver, and install your panels. The entire process, from “Let’s do it!”, to electrical independence, usually takes 12-24 weeks, depending on the factors we’ve outlined above. For the solar customer, the process is truly convenient: your home will be without power for only a few minutes at the very end of the project. And 99% of the work is done on top of, not inside, your house. If you’re thinking of switching to solar, your life will not be on hold, your routine will not be derailed, and your home will not be a mess.

When it comes to cost, comfort, and convenience, installing solar is the one home improvement project that doesn’t sting. So take the first step! Let’s start a conversation about solar for your home. You won’t regret it.
