Your Summer Solar Checklist

Our good ol’ California sunshine has returned to the state. That means your solar panels should be working at peak production… provided everything is functioning as it should. To make sure you’re ready for the upcoming season, here are three ways to ensure you get optimal performance out of your solar system:

  1. Regularly check your monitoring. Log into your monitoring platform to ensure your system is producing and no alerts or errors are present.
  2. Check the status of your inverter, if possible. Each inverter is different. Depending on your specific system, you may have a display screen or indicator light that shows if your system is producing.
  3. Look at your bills to make sure your savings are reflected there. If you’re not getting as much money back as you expected (or if you’re having to pay!) that could mean your system may not be working as it should, or you may need more panels or a battery to offset additional usage.

One of the best ways to ensure your solar will perform at peak production is to clean your solar panels. We recommend a cleaning every one to two years—so if it’s been a while, now is a great time to tackle that maintenance. You can either do it yourself or schedule a cleaning with us.

Prepare your system to get the most out of your solar panels this summer… and then enjoy the season while it’s here.
